Workshops
If you're a hands-on type of person or if the budget is tight, Genesis offers two programs to fit your needs.  Each client's program will be completely unique.  We're sure you've seen as many expensive programs as we have, where the presenter uses material that he's used a thousand times before.  Afterward, it's your job to apply it to your business.  This is not how Genesis operates.  Genesis will explain industry practices and provide insight that only experience brings.  We will also demonstrate what it means to your business, and co-plan strategies and tactics with you to ensure your success.
Marketplace Savvy
NACDS Marketplace and its "Meet the Market" venue provide a great way for retailers to get to know your company and your products.  Too often though, new companies leave disappointed in their results.  Don't let that happen to you.  Here are some of the reasons our clients engage Genesis Sales and Marketing to help at NACDS Marketplace:
~ Save time and money in preparing for a large and complex event
~ To stand out in a crowd of 700 exhibitors
~ Acquire appointments for real conversation instead of casual "walk-bys"
~ Create the perfect 8-minute presentation for "Meet the Market"

The Marketplace Savvy workshop may be conducted over the telephone or in person.  We will guide you through appointment solcitation and help you develop your 8-minute presentation.  We will then provide on-site support in San Diego.  Your investment is $3,000 plus expenses.

Additionally, you may want Genesis to actually conduct the retailer presentations during your "Meet the Market" appointments.  You will sit right next to us, learning how to do it yourself the next time and listening firsthand to customer comments.  To many buyers, the consulting relationship will be invisible as they assume that we are part of your organization.  Your company will immediately be viewed as a viable retail partner, using the right acronyms and nuances of insider communication.  Credibility is so important, and Genesis will give you instant credibility.

Ready for Retail
This one-day workshop will educate and equip your company for the pursuit of retail distribution and managing the actual launch.  It is a must for any company that is serious about introducing a new product to the big retail chains in America.

NACDS has published information on the topic of bringing new products to market.   Download it at http://www.nacds.org/user-assets/pdfs/toolbox/supplier/Products_To_Market_White_Paper.pdf

In support of the industry effort to develop standards, our workshop is consistent with the three products-to-market steps outlined by NACDS:
     1) Pre-Market Due Dilligence
     2) Go-to-Market Strategy
     3) Retailer Implementation

Genesis will conduct extensive research regarding your product and your retail category.  This one-day workshop will educate
your team and equip your company for doing business with the retail community.  We will cover a wide range of topics including:
Packaging → What size is right?  Is it better to stand out or look similar to established brands?
Marketing → Which type of marketing is best?  How much will it cost?
Advertising → What is your message to the consumer?  What is your message to the shopper?
In-Store → How do store managers operate?  Will all plans be executed in the store?
Sales → Are you ready for negotiations?  How about a launch and pursuant account maintenance?
Logistics → Do warehousing, transportation and communication (EDI) meet retailer requirements?
Pricing → Is less always the best?
     And much more

Beware of anyone who tells you they know the answers to these questions.  The answer will be different based on the product,  the category and perhaps even different retailers.  During the workshop, Genesis will present our research and findings.  We will also lay out strategic options for your to consider.  We will collaborate with you to develop a strategy and action steps that lead to success.

The investment for this comprehensive package of research, strategy, and 1-day collaborative planning workshop is $5,000 plus expenses.
